Yes, I thought that is who he was. Interesting comment. Is this from one of his tunes?
Do you know more about his spiritual condition? Is he a believer in Christ? Does he hold to the essential truths of the Christian faith such as the deity of Christ, the inerrancy of Scripture, and justification by faith alone? I will have to listen to some of his music. Thanks!
Yea, it is from The Information, the tune is 'Strange Apparition'.
As far as his theology, I don't listen to music based upon ones theological heritage. But that does not mean what they sing has no theological weight in my book. I find Beck to be an apocalyptic voice amid the shallowness of American consumerist culture.
Plus when did the 'inerrancy' of scripture become an essential truth?
Oh, and if you are easily offended by language that you don't want a four year old to repeat, then you might want to be careful when you tune into Beck.
Thanks for your reply. I don't have a four-year old, but if I ever do, I will remember not to listen to Beck around him. Is there a story there?
Maybe I should have said "The Inspiration or Sufficiency of Scripture." Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I think my fellow students here at school would tend to agree with me. Pretty important, don't you think?
This blog is my attempt at thinking through the issues pertaining to biblical studies and how they relate to the wider world.

Bottles and cans and just clap your hands.
Just clap your hands.
Amen.
